Prices at a glance
How much is rafting near Ubud? On GetYourGuide the Ayung trips compared on this page start between $18 and $64 a person, and the gap is wider than the river would suggest. Every one of them paddles the same gorge west of Ubud, so the money goes on what surrounds the water.
Three things move the price most. The first is transport: pickup from Seminyak or Nusa Dua turns a river trip into a half-day of driving, and some listings build it into the price while others sell it as an option. The second is what happens after the river, from a plate of fried rice to a buffet with showers and fresh towels. The third is exclusivity: a raft for your own group is priced well above a seat in a shared boat.
The prices on this page are GetYourGuide starting prices, the lowest the listing shows, and the figure you pay depends on the date and the option you pick. Your page converts every price into the currency you choose. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before applies on the listings compared here, so you can hold a date while you compare.
The lowest-priced rafting-only listing in this comparison is the Bali Bintang run, from $18. Its itinerary gives a 1-hour drive, 2.5 hours of rafting and the drive back, with lunch, and it describes beginner-friendly class II and III rapids. Pickup is optional, which keeps the base price low.
Close behind come runs that start at their own Kedewatan base. Ayung Dewata Rafting lists 2 hours on the river from $21, with lunch, starting and ending at its base. Green Bali Rafting lists a 2-hour trip from $22, starting from its base on Jalan Raya Kedewatan with a safety briefing.
One more way onto the Ayung at the same low starting price comes as part of a package. A rafting day with a zip line and the Uma Ceking rice terraces starts from $18, and its 98 reviews average 4.94. Combination listings like this one are worth reading closely: check how long the rafting itself lasts, what lunch is, and whether the second activity has its own rules.

The trip this site books starts from $26, in the middle of the range. For that price the listing includes rafting equipment, a professional guide, drinking water, insurance cover, service charge and government tax, showers with fresh towels, changing rooms and an Indonesian buffet lunch. Pickup and transfer are included if you choose that option when you book.
That list is the point of paying a little more than for the cheapest run. After 2 hours on the river you climb back up, shower, change out of wet clothes and sit down to a 30-minute buffet at Toekad Rafting before the drive home. It carries 2,435 reviews averaging 4.74, the deepest record of any listing on this page.
Two other listings sit close to it. A trip with lunch and private pickup, open to ages 5 to 65, starts from $27 and gives about 2 to 2.5 hours of rafting on a 12 km route. A family-friendly trip from the same Toekad base starts from $22 but has only 10 reviews so far.

The premium Ayung trip starts from $58, with pickup included and 5 hours from door to door. Its listing names class II and III rapids and an operator that says it has over 30 years in adventure tours. If you want a seamless morning from your hotel and back, this is the price band where pickup stops being an option and becomes part of the deal.
Privacy costs more again. Bali Bintang's base-camp trip, which offers private or small groups, starts from $64 for 2.5 hours on the water. The trip this site books also lists private or small groups as available, so compare its private option with this one before you decide.
Long days sit in this band as well. A Mount Batur sunrise hike followed by 3 hours of rafting starts from $45. A rafting day with a jungle swing and pickup starts from $42. Here you are paying for a full day out, and the river is one part of it.
Read the included list line by line. On the trip this site books, the only item listed as not included is personal expenses. That makes the starting price close to the real cost of the morning, once you have chosen pickup or not.
Photos are the usual extra. Some operators, Sobek among them, photograph rafters on the river and offer the pictures for purchase at the finish.1 Decide in advance whether you want them, ask the price at the base before the trip rather than after, and keep in mind that a waterproof phone case costs less if you only want a few shots of your own.
The Ayung River rafting price on a listing is per person, so a family pays the figure once for each rafter. Use the calculator on this page to total your group on the listings that suit you. Pickup changes the price on some listings, so pick the option you actually need in the booking form; a cheaper rate that leaves you paying a taxi to Kedewatan is not cheaper.
If you are weighing the Ayung against Bali's other rafting river, the Telaga Waja in Karangasem, the prices overlap more than you might expect. One Telaga Waja listing with lunch starts from $20, another from $25, and a small-group trip from $24. A Telaga Waja day with private-car pickup starts from $40.
The difference is in the clock rather than the bill. From Seminyak, Kuta or Jimbaran, Telaga Waja listings give between 1.5 and 3 hours of driving each way, against about an hour to the Ayung from most tourist centres by Indonesia Travel's estimate.2 A similar price can buy a much longer day in the car, which our Telaga Waja page weighs up in more detail.
Tubing is a different product at a different price. A tubing trip on the Ayung, with lunch and about 3 hours on the water, starts from $39 and is limited to ages 12 to 65. You float in an individual tube rather than paddling as a team, so compare it with rafting on the experience you want, not on price alone.
Price per hour is a fair way to compare. The trip this site books lists 2.5 to 5 hours depending on the option, the premium trip 5 hours and the swing combination 5 to 6. Ayung Dewata's run from its own base lasts 3 hours. The chart on this page sets these side by side.
Time on the river is a narrower number. Most listings here give 2 or 2.5 hours of rafting. Indonesia Travel describes the Ayung route as 10 kilometres taking 1.5 to 2 hours.3 Whatever the price, expect a couple of hours in the raft, with the rest spent driving, changing, eating and climbing.
That is why the cheapest listing is not always the best value. A low price with a 1-hour drive each way and no showers can leave you wet in a car; a mid-priced trip with towels and a buffet a short drive from the river can feel like the better morning. Decide what you need around the water, then pick the lowest price that delivers it.
